1. Do I get a control panel to manage my account?
All of our hosting accounts, from shared to dedicated, come complete with a state of the art control panel. We take steps to ensure that the control panel you use is powerful yet easy to use. We are confident that you will be completely satisfied with the control panels we have to offer.

2. Do your servers support ASP?
Yes, our windows servers support ASP (active server pages).

3. Do you provide a dedicated IP?
A dedicated IP is an IP that does not change frequently. All of our servers have Shared Dedicated IPs. The server itself has a dedicated IP, but your IP is shared with other user on the same server.

If you would like your very own IP, one that is not shared, you may sign up for dedicated hosting. Youcan also purchase our own SSL certificate on a full hosting account in order to obtain your very own IP.

4. What version of PHP are you running?
Our servers run PHP version 4.3.x and later. Our dedicated server customers are free to install any version they like. If you are on shared hosting and want a newer version installed, we may be able to do so provided that the admins. approve the install. Just send an email to support@tysvariety.com and we will look into it for you.

5. Will you deactivate my account for non-payment?
If payment is not received after the third day of your renewal date, your service will be stopped and your account will be suspended for billing. If your account is suspended and you wish to reinstate the service, a $55 reinstate fee will apply on top of the renewal fee.

6. Do your servers support JavaScript?
Yes, java script is client-side dependant and does not process on the server. This means that all of our servers will run Javascript just fine. The user's web browser will ultimately determine if Javascript works or not.


7. What payment methods are accepted when ordering for the first time?

Currently, TYS Variety accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover Card, and Debit Card with the Visa or MasterCard Logo. We also accept check, money order, and Wire Transfers. Accounts paid by check, money order, or wire transfer will not be setup until payment is received.


8. Why do I have to send a copy of my credit card and I.D.?

If your order is from outside the United States, or in select cases where you are located inside the states, we may ask you to send us a copy of your credit card and ID. This does not usually occur but has been known to happen.

The amount of fraudulent orders has increased in the past few years. At TYS Variety, protecting our customer is our top priority. Since most of our orders are through an online form, there are no person to person interactions. This makes it easy for someone who is not the credit card holder to place the order. Since no items are shipped, credit card companies find it difficult to trace the criminal who used the card fraudulently.

Research shows that most criminals using stolen credit cards do not have the plastic credit card on hand. Instead, they have documents of stolen credit card information. In cases where we suspect fraud, we may ask you for a fax or an email with the scanned images.

We require a copy of your government issued ID and credit card. If you send this information to us via email, our representatives will print the email and destroy the electronic copy. All of our servers and computers have security measures to prevent against hacking. The printed emails and faxes are all locked in a cabinet for safe keeping and access is only available to authorized personel.

We have found that when it comes to security, our customers are more than willing to go the extra mile and help us ensure that no one is a victim of credit card fraud.

9. How long does it take for my product and/or service to be ready?
We can have your service online 24 hours after you place your order, provided that the order application is accurate and complete, and paid with a valid credit card. You will receive your account information via e-mail. Please take note, domain registrations or transfer may take longer than 24 hours.

Should your product or service be a domain name, it may take up to 2 to 4 business days to become available. Also, additional service requests may take anywhere from 2 to 5 business days.

10. Can you design my website for me?
Yes, TYS Variety also has a Web Design Department that specializes in all the latest technology in web design. To visit our web designers, click on the WebDesign button located on our navigation bar.

11. How do I contact TYS Variety?

12. Do you allow Adult websites?
It is our policy NOT to host any adult content on our servers. There are various legal and logistical reasons as to why we have decided to initiate this policy.

13. Do your servers support PHP?

Yes, all of TYS Variety's servers support PHP on full hosting accounts.

14. Do your servers support Flash?
Al of our servers support flash. It is a client-side application and whether it owrks or not is dependant on the web developer using flash or the end user's computer supporting it.

15. Do your servers support MSSQL?
TYS Variety servers do not provide MSSQL Microsoft SQL) Database capability. We do not anticipate supporting this in the near future. We apologize for any inconvenience.

16. Do your servers support live audio/video streaming?
Our servers allow for HTTP Streaming. This is different than a live continuous (radio broadcast like) stream. In order for your to stream audio or video, the complete rendered video or audio must be uploaded to the server. Coding is required to embed the audio or video into your website.

Note:The information found regarding instruction for streaming only pertains to video/audio streaming with real media files. You are not limited to real media file types.

17. Do your servers support FrontPage Extensions?
All of our servers support Microsoft FrontPage extensions on full hosting accounts.

18. Are there any hidden fees?
TYS Variety does not believe in hidden fees. All our pricing plans and details are on our website and terms and conditions. You do not have to worry about being charged any hidden fees.

19. Do your servers support MS Access?
Yes, our windows servers support Microsoft Access Databases.

20. Is there an early termination fee if I sign up for a year?
TYS Variety does not believe in early termination fees. You can cancel at any time and we will not charge you an early termination fee. Please keep in mind that some fees are non-refundable and those fees are not part of any early termination fee. Please read up on our refund policy to find out about the fees that are non-refundable.

21.How can I activate an account using the check or money order?
To place an order with us via check or money order, please visit our sign up page. In the field where you would normally enter your billing information, do the following:

1) pick any credit card
2) for the numbers, type 4111111111111111
3)pick any expiration date that falls in the future.

This will allow you to submit your order successfully. A few minutes after your order has been received, you will receive a confirmation email providing you with the total due. You may send your check or money order payment to the following address:

Please make sure to reference your domain name on your payment. Your hosting account will be set up as soon as payment is received and authorized.

22. Do you provide Telnet or SSH Access?
With the EXCEPTION of the Virtual Server Plan or a Dedicated Server, at this time, we do not provide tenet access or SSH to your files. You may, however, use telnet to connect to port 110 (incoming mail) and to port 25 (outgoing mail). You will not be able to access files using telnet or SSH on our shared hosting plans.


23. How do I park a domain name?
In order to park a domain name, you must fill out the Domain Name Parking form on our website. There is an annual fee of $14.95 to park a domain name.

24. Do your servers support CGI/PERL?
All of our full hosting servers support CGI/Perl. Some of the plugins we provide make use of CGI.

25. Do you offer a money back guarantee?
At TYS Variety we are very confident in our products and services. We provide a fast, reliable and comprehensive service and believe that you will be completely satisfied. We are ranked as #1 in customer service in many of the significant web hosting directories and constantly improve our operation.

We offer unconditional money back guarantee on our hosting servcies. Domain names registered through our services will be subject to a $20/year domain registration fee. Should you decide to cancel your account within the initial 30 day period, you will receive a full refund on the hosting fees. The registration fees cannot be cancelled, however arrangements can be made to transfer the domain name to your new provider. Therefore, the registration service fees are non-refundable.

26. Do your servers support different ftp clients?
All of our full hosting servers support standard FTP clients.You may use any standard FTP program that is available. The ones we have noticed are used most often are (in no particular order):

27. Do your servers support Cold Fusion?
At this time, TYS Variety servers do not support ColdFusion. We apologize for any inconvenience.

28. Where can I send abuse complaints?
Should you have any abuse related questions/comments, please send an email to tyshosting@tysvariety.com . Should your account be suspended for violating our terms and conditions, you must contact tyshosting@tysvariety.com and wait for their response.


29. Do you offer uptime guarantee?
At TYS Variety, we are very confident in our products and services. We provide a fast, reliable and comprehensive service and believe that you will be completely satisfied. We are ranked as #1 in customer service in many of the significat web hosting directories and constantly improve our operation.

We guarantee 99.9% server uptime.


30. Do your servers support jsp files?
At this time, TYS Variety servers do not support JSP files. We apologize for any inconvenience.


31. What currency are your prices in?
All the currency on tysvariety.com is in USD (United States Dollars). You may still sign up from anywhere in the world, however, the prices shwon are in USD.

32. Do I pay taxes?
All of our prices are as shown on our webpages.We do not charge sales tax for our services.

33. Do you provide SSL?
All of our full hosting servers are equipped with a Shared SSL in order for you to secure your site. The security method uses the temp URL we provde and alows for secure credit card transactions.

34. Do you provide the option of buying a dedicated SSL?
Yes, we provide the option of buyuing an SSL from us for use with your account.

35. Will you put ads on my site?
TYS Variety does not place ANY ads on our customer's websites. You are in control of the content on your website. We do not place advertisements on your site.

36. Do your servers support different email clients?
All of our full hosting servers support standard email clients. You may use any standard POP3/SMTP client to send or receive email. Some of the ones we have noticed are used most often include (in no particular order):

Entourage (for Macs)
Eudora
Eudora Lite
ncrediMail
MacMail (for Macs)
Mozilla Thunderbird
Netscape 6.x or later
Opera
Outlook
Outlook Express

Most of these programs are free and available for use. This is only alist of commony used programs.


37. Do you guarantee a listing in search engines?

After you have signed up for one of our hosting packages, we do submit your site to top search engines. It may take 4 to 12 weeks to get listed. This is of course assuming that the search engines decide to list you. This is completely their decision. All we do is submit the URL. This saves you time from having to submit it individually. You are not guaranteed to get listed as we have no control over it. Please be aware that TYS Variety does NOT GUARANTEE search engine placement and/or ranking to any search engine, we only compliment your marketing and advertising efforts.

38. What will I see on my credit card statement?
You will see "TYS Variety" on your credit card statement.

39. Do you offer 24/7 tech support?
We offer 24/7 technical support via email and voice channels all year round. We are also available on ALL major holidays.

40. When does my first 30 days start?
Your first 30 days starts the moment the account is set to approved status. The account is set to approved status when payent is authorized.

41. What version of Perl are you running?
We use Perl version 5.8 on most of our servers. Our dedicated server customers are free to install any version they like. If you are on shared hosting and want a newer version installed, we may be able to do so provided that the admins approve the install. Just send an email to webdesign@tysvariety.com and we will look into it for you.

42. Do your servers support IMAP?
TYS Variety does not provide IMAP mail servcies. Our mail uses PO3 for retrieval and SMTP for sending.

43. Do your servers support Cron Jobs?
If you have a cron job you would like for us to run, we will be happy to run it for you provided that the admins approve it. Please send all of your cron jobs to support@tysvariety.com. We will check the cron and provide an appropriate response.

vDeck Shared hosting customers have a built in Cron Scheduler for simple cron jobs.

DEDICATED HOSTING: Our dedicated customers are free to run their own cron jobs. You must know how to set one up in order to do so.

44. Do your servers support MYSQL?
Yes, all TYS Variety full hosting servers spport MYSQL Databases.

45. What version of MYSQL are you running?
TYS Variety servers run MYSQL versions 4.0x and later. Our shared hosting servers generally use version 4.0.18. Our dedicated server customers are free to install any version they like. If you are on shared hosting and want a newer version installed, we may be able to do so provided that the admins approve the instal. Just send an email to support@tysvariety.com and we will look into it for you.

46. Do you accept check by phone?
TYS Variety does not accept check by phone. You can mail your check to us at:

47. Do you backup emails in case I need a restore?
Although we provide file and database restores (for a fee), we do not provide email restoration. Should your emails be deleted maliciously or by accident, we will not be able to restore your emails. We strongly recommend that our customers set up an email client in order to save their emails on their hard drive.

If you have important emails, it is a good idea to back them up by downloading them into an email client, or by saving the mail content on your computer. If you need help setting up an email client, you can search for email clients in our FAQ section.

48. How can I change my username?
All of our usernames are computer generated. You may chang eyour account passwords; however, your username cannot be changed. we apologize for any inconvenience.

49. Do your servers support SENDMAIL?
All of our unix based servers support SENDMAIL. SendMail can be used by scripts to generate an email and send it.

50. Do your servers support SSI (server side includes)?
Our servers support SSI (Server Side Includes). Please make sure that if you use SSI's that your permissions are set correctly. For best results, set all files involved in SSI to 755 permissions. Aso, be sure that the extension is either PHP or SHTML.
